Members can apply for up to a maximum $7500 in funding for research and training activities under CUPFA PD Large Grants.
The categories for Large Grants are as follows:
- Conference Attendance
- Conference Presentation
- Preparation of Art
- Preparation of Manuscript
To be eligible for CUPFA PD Large Grants members must have a minimum of 18 seniority credits as of the current seniority list. To find your official seniority, go to FRIS and select “Part Time Professors and Applicants”. Scroll down to the links under “Relevant Documentation” to “CUPFA Seniority List” and other useful links to current course postings and instructions regarding applications, contract signing and pdf merging.
In accordance with Concordia’s Conflict of Interest Policy, members must disclose when they are hiring a Related Party, provide a written justification that outlines the Related Party’s qualifications, and convey any financial benefit to the overall cost of the project. ‘Related Party’ means a Member’s immediate family member (spouse, child, parent or sibling), or other person living in the same household, or any other person with whom the Member shares a financial interest, either directly or indirectly.

- CUPFA Large Grant application form
- Completed budgets (you must use CUPFA budget forms)
- Description of project
- Description of how the activity will enhance teaching
- Additional budget Information
- Official conference and training information
- Travel quotes from University travel agencies (or other travel quotes when applicable)
- Seniority list (include only one page)
- Curriculum Vitae
- Signature of Department Chair

Acknowledging CUPFA Professional Development Large Grants
If you receive a grant, you are required to acknowledge the support from Concordia University Part-time Faculty Professional Development in any publication, exhibition, catalogues, invitations, film, CD, etc. produced as a result of the award. (see CUPFA Collective Agreement, Article 17). This recognition must be equal to that given to other funders, sponsors, or donors for similar support. In addition to the written statement you must include the CUPFA logo in your acknowledgement.

To apply for CUPFA Grants, please download and complete the application form and appropriate budgets. PDF files opened in Acrobat Reader are editable and have an auto-calculate function. Acrobat Reader can be downloaded for free from any web browser. Please do NOT use “Preview” (while it will work, the software appears to corrupt the PDFs and disable the date field and auto-calculate functions).
